THE OFFICIAL NXT DEFINITIONS

Decider

Decider belongs to one of the two Type Focuses in the NXT personality framework. If you are new or unfamiliar with this topic, do refer to the Introduction of Type Focus for more information.

Overview

Deciding Functions are Judging Cognitive Functions, used in making decisions by evaluating the world with opinions.

As such, Deciders tend to focus on areas relating to people, most noticeably on the validity of actions and opinions, all of which are determined by decisions.

Deciders will have a Deciding Function as their Dominant Function. Deciding Functions consist of Extraverted Thinking (TE), Extraverted Feeling (FE), Introverted Thinking (TI), and Introverted Feeling (FI).

To provide greater clarity and understanding of the descriptions above, below are the key definitions for the specific terms used.

Key Definitions

Definition of Decider:
A person who prioritizes decisions over observations.

Note: To clarify, Deciders make both observations and decisions. They merely focus more on the latter.

Definition of Decision:
The conclusion obtained through evaluating, primarily centered around people.

Note: Decision in this context does not imply a choice made between several options, but merely a conclusion regarding something. As decisions must originate from an individual or group, decisions tend to revolve around people-related matters.

Definition of Judging:
Reaching a decision through the process of evaluating.

Note: Judging is an original term coined by Carl Jung to explain the function of Thinking and Feeling. Judging in this context is not related to the meaning adapted in Myer-Briggs Type Indicator, which implies an organized and structured personality. Judging is also not associated with the negative connotation of being judgmental, offensive, and critical of others.

Definition of Evaluating:
Determining the quality and merits of a subject.

Note: Evaluating in this context is not a thorough, scientific assessment, but a mental process that occurs in the mind. Through the process of evaluating, an individual can reach a decision.

Definition of Opinion:
Belief or viewpoint, obtained from others or oneself.

Note: To clarify, opinion in this context is not associated with being opinionated and judgemental.

Definition of People:
Individuals or groups of human beings, more specifically about the validity of their actions and opinions.

Note: Everyone is concerned with issues relating to people to an extent. However, Deciders are relatively more affected by such matters.

Thematic Details

Within the fictional world of Mochiverse, the Type Focus of an archetype is represented by the ninja's headgear. Deciders consist of either the Leader Class or Evolver Class, both represented by their own unique headgear.

Example of ninjas who are of the Leader Class (left) and Evolver Class (right).

Deciders who are of the Leader Class wear a headgear that looks like a beret, while Deciders who are of the Evolver Class wear a headgear that has two pointy ears coming out at the top.
