Director

Director belongs to one of the four Type Drives in the NXT personality framework. If you are new or unfamiliar with the topic, do refer to the Introduction of Type Drive for more information.

Overview

Directing Function Pairs are Introverted Perceiving and Extraverted Judging Cognitive Functions, operating together to make subjective observations and objective decisions by examining internally for familiar knowledge and evaluating externally with opinions from others.

To put it briefly, the act of Directing involves repeating known information with others.

Directors have a Building Function and Leading Function among their Dominant and Supportive Function. This means that either Introverted Sensing (SI) or Introverted Intuition (NI) will be paired with either Extraverted Thinking (TE) or Extraverted Feeling (FE).

To provide greater clarity and understanding of the descriptions above, below are the key definitions for the specific terms used.

Key Definitions

Definition of Director:
A person who prioritizes Directing to fulfill their desire for certainty and belonging.

Note: A Director is typically someone who oversees a company or leads a movie production, but a NXT Director refers instead to someone who often repeats known information with others.

Definition of Directing:
To act in a way that prioritizes others through an organized approach.

Note: Directing includes, but is not limited to: organizing group activities, executing plans, and managing long-term projects.

Definition of Objective:
Based on the non-personal interpretation of matters.

Note: An impersonal interpretation is not equivalent to an accurate or better interpretation, but merely one that is more detached from the individual.

Definition of Subjective:
Based on the personal interpretation of matters.

Note: A personal interpretation is not equivalent to an inaccurate or worse interpretation, but merely one that is more attached to the individual.

Definition of Familiar:
Within an individual's usual experiences or awareness.

Note: Familiar relates to the desire for certainty as it repeats something that is known, creating a sense of security.

Derivative Traits

As mentioned above, Directors focus on repeating known information with others. As such, various characteristics can be expanded upon this description to understand it better.

To illustrate an experiential depiction of a Director, here are some possible derivative traits that are commonly reported from individuals of this Type Drive.

  1. Talks thoroughly on specific topics or events that they believe are of interest to many.
  2. Communicates by telling others an opinion in a clear and concise manner.
  3. Often gives lessons and advice to people based on matters that are important to the community.
  4. Organizes the progress and direction of group goals and activities.
  5. Feels drained by the act of analyzing unfamiliar subjects, especially matters outside of the community's norms or interests.

Within the fictional world of Mochiverse, the Type Drive of an archetype is represented by the ninja's clothing. In particular, Directors are designed to wear a haori, a traditional Japanese formal wear.
