Humans possess a wide range of psychological desires that govern and motivate their everyday behavior. These various desires can essentially be grouped into four fundamental categories, better known as the four primal human desires. These desires are variety, certainty, belonging, and significance.
Listed below is a brief summary of each primal human desire:
- Variety - The desire for diversity in the world.
- Certainty - The desire for assurance in life.
- Belonging - The desire for connection with people.
- Significance - The desire for personal worth.
Every individual possesses all four desires, but the relative importance of each desire varies from person to person. The primal human desire that an individual prioritizes the most will ultimately determine their Personality Class, namely: Explorer, Builder, Leader, or Evolver.
Listed below are the Personality Classes and their corresponding primal human desire:
- Explorer (X) - An individual who prioritizes variety.

Type Focus Type Focus will delve into the classification of Observers and Deciders, as well as how they examine or evaluate the world. Depending on one’s Dominant Hero Class, an individual either prioritizes making observations or decisions.
Individuals who are of the Builder (B) or Explorer (X) Class will focus more on Observations, and are therefore known as Observers. On the other hand, those who are of the Leader (L) or Evolver (V) Class will focus more on Decisions, and are therefore known as Deciders.
Type Perspective
Type Perspective will delve into the classification of Explorers (X) and Builders (B), as well as how they examine the world and make observations. Although everyone has the desire to Explore and Build, each individual will naturally prioritize one over the other. This preference determines their Type Perspective.
Individuals who are Explorers (X) will prioritize the discovery of anything new. On the other hand, individuals who are Builders (B) will prioritize the perfection of what is known.
Type Strategy
Type Strategy will delve into the classification of Leaders (L) and Evolvers (V), as well as how they evaluate the world and make decisions. Although everyone has the desire to Lead and Evolve, each individual will naturally prioritize one over the other. This preference determines their Type Strategy.
Individuals who are Leaders (L) will prioritize the needs of others over their own. On the other hand, individuals who are Evolvers (V) will prioritize their own personal growth and development.
